Bio
Coach Porter is another Bullitt East Alumni and went on to get his bachelors degree from Eastern Kentucky University and the University of Louisville. While at Bullitt East, Coach Porter played Running Back and Defensive Back under Head Coach Darrel Vincent. After graduating from EKU, Coach Porter started his coaching career at JTown High School in 2017 for two seasons before transitioning to Oldham County High School for another year in 2019. Coach Porter made his way back to the Bullitt East program in 2020 as an assistant and offensive coordinator for two seasons in the East Chargers middle school program where he learned the system and helped develop future Bullitt East Chargers to play at a championship level.
In 2022, Coach Porter returned to Bullitt East High School to teach science, and in his coaching role, he became the only coach to be trusted with taking on two varsity positions. Offensively, Coach Porter took command of a very successful QB group as he would go on to help in the final year of development for the would be- Mr. Football and Gatorade Player of the year in Travis Egan. Defensively, Coach Porter would lead the Defensive Back group to understand and execute a new brand of defense under Coach Thornsberry's direction. In doing so, Coach Porter's DB group grew immensely compared to prior years and really became a large factor of the defensive success that the Chargers had in 2022. With their speed and confidence of play, they would go on to help the Chargers capture their first Class 6A State Title in the State of Kentucky.
