Ben Shoultz

Bio

Coach Shoultz is an Alumni of Shelby County High School and received a scholarship to play football at the University of the Cumberlands where he obtained his Bachelors Degree. During his time at the University of the Cumberlands, Shoultz transitioned from player to coach while he was a student. He got his first coaching job as a Graduate Assistant for the University of the Cumberlands in 2017 where he coached the Tight Ends and helped as well with the Offensive Line and Running Backs. In 2018, Coach Shoultz returned to his Alma Mater where he would spend 4 seasons before coming to Bullitt East in 2022. While at Shelby County, Coach Shoultz developed in many different areas. He became the varsity offensive line coach as well as an assistant linebackers coach, the JV Head Coach, the Varsity Special Teams Coordinator, and the assistant Strength and Conditioning Coordinator.

In 2022, Coach Shoultz made the transition to Bullitt East to teach Math and join the football staff. On the football Staff, Coach Shoultz came in tasked with the job of leading the JV and Freshmen levels of the program. Few people on staff put in more hours than Coach Shoultz as he not only captained the Freshmen and JV teams on Mondays and Thursday nights, but Shoultz was also the offensive Analyst and Run Game Coordinator at the varsity level. Through his work, the JV Chargers had one of their most successful seasons with a combined record of 8-6 while playing an extremely difficult schedule that included Manual, Boyle County, and St. X. Also, the varsity Chargers were able to finish the season in the top 10 in 6A for average rushing yards a game thanks to the input each week of Coach Shoultz that would help lead the Charger campaign to their first State Title in 2022.
